A unique state-level tourist resort, Yalong Bay is characterized by its tropical ambiance. It covers an area of 19 square kilometers (7 square miles) and is a combination of seaside parks, deluxe villas, conference centers, top hotels, holiday villages, a marine world, a water activity center, golf courses, yacht clubs and so on.

Yalong Bay is 25 kilometers (16 miles) by road east of Sanya City, Hainan Island, South China.
Features
Yalong Bay possesses the five essential elements of a seaside tourist resort: sea, sand, sunshine, green plants and fresh air. The area has a tropical marine climate with an annual average temperature of 25°C (77°F). The lowest sea temperature of the region is 22°C (72°F) in winter - a great temperature for all kinds of water activities. Its 66 square kilometers (25 square miles) of sea can hold thousands of visitors swimming and playing in the water. The water here is crystal clear and sights 10 meters (33 feet) under water are clearly visible.
Butterfly Valley
Butterfly Valley is located in the east of Yalong Bay Tourism Zone. Hudielianhua (which means "The Butterfly Loves Flowers") Exhibition House is in the shape of a butterfly. In its five exhibition rooms are not only the most precious butterflies in China, like the Golden Kaiserihind (Teinopalpus aureus) and the Bhutan Glory (Bhutanitis lidderdalii), but also world famous butterflies, such as Goliath Birdwing (Ornithoptera goliath) and Brassolini.
Outside the Exhibition House is a large scale butterfly garden built with nets around the tropical plants and environment. In the garden grow plants characteristic of the tropical zone: lianas, the wide and graceful banyan, the dragon tree,
Lanneaand so on. There is an atmosphere of warmth and fragrance supplied by the wild flowers, accompanied by the sound of streams running through the valley and the sight of flying butterflies.
