Spain celebrated its National Pavilion Day yesterday with cultural activities and an evening ballet in the Expo Center.
The pavilion, one of the most popular on the Expo site, designed like a wicker basket, is known as the "The Basket."
Wicker work is famous in both Spain and China and the 8,000 elaborate panels comprising the pavilion were handmade by craftsmen in China's Shandong Province.
The Pavilion theme is "From the City of Our Parents to the City of Our Children."
A virtual tunnel showcases live Spanish football games.
Another highlight is the giant, 6.5-meter-tall robot baby boy, "Miguelin," who nods and giggles.
