People visiting the Switzerland Pavilion from now to September 5 will be able to see some of the country's most creative designs.
The pavilion is hosting the "Exhibition of Swiss Design & Innovation" which displays some projects that won the Design Preis Schweiz (Swiss Design Award) in 2009, such as sunglasses, textile fabrics, lamps and women's suits.
One of the most eye-catching pieces is a container created by Sandra Kunz from Switzerland and Yang Jian from China. The inflatable plastic container looks like a red "castle" with elements of Suzhou gardens, Buddhist temples, European porches and columns. The two artists drew inspiration from cultural heritages of both China and Switzerland.
The container was exhibited at the Zendai Museum of Modern Art in Shanghai in 2009 and the China-Europe Art Center in Xiamen.
