The Private Enterprises Joint Pavilion is undertaken by a group of well-known private Chinese businesses. Taking insights from the structure of cells, the structure of the pavilion resembles an organic combination of cells, thanks to its curved design that radiates with rich colors and expressive displays, which differs from the linear design normally adopted by buildings made of steel and glass. The pavilion consists of 19.5 cylinders, with varied heights and a fluid line design for the exterior outline. For the first time, external wall adopts intelligent light-reflective aluminum membranes on its facade, which helps create varying visual effects in line with its changing angles and differing positions of sun lighting. In the evening, the whole pavilion will take on an illuminating and splendid look with the help of videos, images, lighting, stereo equipment, and unique performances.

The pavilion in silver resembles a huge metal bowl along the Huangpu River in the Puxi section of the Expo site. Its external spiral design conveys a sense of modernity. The metallic design as well as the smooth and fluid lines of the pavilion's exterior is evocative of an automobile body. The pavilion exterior is cloaked in 4,000 recycled aluminum panels of slightly different sizes, tilt angles and surface cambers to give its outer shell a smooth and seamless appearance.

Located to the west of the Huanpu River, the Corporate Pavilion of Vanke, a top Chinese property developer, consists of seven gold straw houses that graciously display the health and vigor of life. The pavilion, with its facade made of wheat straw, comprises seven independent tube-shaped buildings with their tops connected through blue light-filtering ETFE plastic films. 2010 shanghai EXPO City Jade Culture in Aurora Pavilion

Pavilion Features

The inspiration for the pavilion comes from Confucius' view of jade. The great ancient scholar of China had summarized 11 virtues of jade, among which five have been well accepted and passed on, including "benevolence, righteousness, manners, wisdom, and credit," all symbolizing virtues which should be carried on. The exhibition will continue those virtues and develop them in line with new city styles, expressing the Expo theme of "Better City, Better Life."
