Brief Introduction

Harbin Jihua Ski Resort is in the Binxi National Forest Park, and it is about 38 kilometers from Harbin. It is surrounded by mountains, and the scenery is good. The area receives heavy snowfall, and there is snow for about 150 days a year. The surrounding mountains shelter the ski park.

Siberian Tiger Park covers an area of more than a million square meters (more than 250 acres) in an area just to the north of Sun Island Park across a branch of the Songhua River. It was set up as a place to breed and house Siberian tigers. The Siberian tiger is the largest of the big cats. The breeding program has been very successful, and there are now about 800 Siberian tigers there along with other large cats like lions and pumas. This is amazing, since in it is estimated that there are only about 500 Siberian tigers left in the wild. Almost all of these wild ones are in Russia, and maybe 12 are in China. It is China's 2nd largest Siberian tiger park. The site includes a museum, breeding areas, and pens for the other large cats. It is amazing to see a group of striped golden tigers walk and run together. Visitors to the park can view a few score Siberian tigers that are on exhibit up close through fences, see other large cats such as Bengal tigers, lions, pumas and several other kinds, ride in vans or small buses into a field where they run and may chase the vehicle or hop on it, and help to feed the animals.

The museum is in Harbin in Heilongjiang Province. Heilongjiang is China’s northernmost province and is north of North Korea. It has been a site for the region’s power struggles for thousands of years between the Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, Mongolians, several tribes and Russians. Harbin itself began as a Russian city. The region was the base territory of two war-like tribes that conquered China and founded two of China’s dynasties. One tribe conquered northern China and founded the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234 AD); and later, the Manchus conquered China and founded the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). St.Sofia Orthodox Church is the largest Orthodox Church building in the Far East. It was built early in the 20th century, for the Russians and other Orthodox people living around Harbin. It is 53.3 meters (175 feet) tall, and it occupies an area of 721 square meters (0.18 acres). The style of the building is Neo-Byzantine. The main structure is laid out in the shape of a cross with the main hall topped with a huge green tipped dome. There are smaller steeples, and the domes and steeples are topped with gold colored crosses. It looks like the church building at the Red Square in Moscow. It is beautiful to look at, and the interior is beautifully designed and decorated. It is one of Harbin’s most magnificent buildings.

The Sun Island Scenic Spot facing the Sidalin Park, separated by the Songhua River, It's a famous scenic spot in the world. It covers a total area of 38 square kilometers and is characterized by the simple and wild landscape.

Yabuli Ski Resort  is, hands down, China's biggest and best.(See China's top ski resorts); There is more than one ski resort in China that claims this distinction, but if one checks out what's on offer, one will quickly realize that Yabuli Ski Resort is in a class by itself among Chinese ski resorts. The very fact that Yabuli Ski Resort serves as the primary training venue for China's national teams (Alpine, Nordic (aka Cross-Country) and Freestyle teams) should give an idea of the quality of the slopes at Yabuli Ski Resort (the 1996 Asian Winter Games, the third such event in the series, was held at Yabuli Ski Resort). The ski resort, built on Yabuli Sun Mountain, part of the Changbai Mountain Range, is located in China's northernmost province, Heilongjiang, about 180 kilometers southeast of the province's capital city, Harbin.

Harbin is the capital of Heilongjiang Province, which borders Russia in the north. Situated in the middle reaches of the Songhua River, it is a busy river port. With several highways and railways converging at Harbin, the city is an important transportation hub in northeastern China.
